Cypress Hills Destination Area

The highest point between the Rocky Mountains and Newfoundland and Labrador is in Saskatchewan! That’s right; it’s not all prairie and farmland in the southern part of the province. The Cypress Hills rise 600 metres from the surrounding prairie in south west Saskatchwan and are covered in lodgepole pine forests and rugged mountain-like terrain.

Since it is such a unique area, there are many angles your story could take, be sure to include the following when you do your research:

Cypress Hill Vineyard and Winery

Fort Walsh National Historic Site

Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park

Historic Reesor Ranch

Maple Creek

The Star Café

Conglomerate Cliffs
